A group called Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility believes that the California branch of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration may be experiencing problems that have the potential to compromise safety, and they’ve lodged a complaint seeking improvements in this regard. At issue is the level of personnel suited to carrying out inspections on behalf of the safety entity. Over the last couple years, the number of such individuals has been reduced by around 10%. The worry is that this could prevent Cal-OSHA from carrying out the legwork necessary to ensure that workers aren’t being exposed to dangerous circumstances on the job.
