A new report in the Huffington Post takes a look at the effect that new regulations geared toward preventing fatigued driving among truckers may have. A study has arrived from the Washington State University that shows the beneficial impact the rules can have on the roads. Between last January and July, 106 drivers submitted data that highlighted how exhaustion was diminished when required breaks saw two nights pass rather than one. The new law requires two such breaks, designated as being between 1 and 5 in the morning, to take place before an interstate trucker can start a new 34-hour cycle. Previously, only one such timeframe had to pass.
