PSBR attorneys Spencer Lucas and co-counsel John Ritter and Michael Belize obtained a $6,015,000 settlement for a woman who was injured while riding as a passenger on a motorcycle that was struck by a Southern California Edison vehicle.
The plaintiff suffered severe pelvic, leg, and spine factures as a result of the collision. The defense spent over $100,000 on an animated reconstruction of the collision, arguing that the motorcycle driver was attempting to make an illegal passing maneuver on the right, and that the motorcycle was 100% at fault. The motorcyclist alleged that he was making a right turn and was going to then turn around. The female passenger was knocked unconscious and has no recall of the event. The case settled shortly before trial.
