On the evening of January 28, the Barristers Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) hosted a cocktail reception for local state and federal judiciary at The California Club in downtown Los Angeles. Over 150 guests, including 30-plus judges, attended the 2016 Barristers’ Bench Meets The Bar Reception, sponsored by Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP.
“This was a great evening for LA’s young attorneys to spend some time with our local judiciary outside of the courtroom setting,” said PSBR attorney Robert Glassman, President of LACBA Barristers Section. “We were honored that both state and federal court leadership represented by Judge Kuhl and Judge Phillips attended and spoke to us about important issues facing our court system.”
Active for over 70 years, the mission of the LACBA Barristers Section is to provide opportunity-related services for lawyers younger than 36 years of age or those that have been admitted to practice for 5 years or less. Barristers activities, such as the Bench Meets the Bar event, offer new and young lawyers a forum to develop legal and leadership skills, build a professional reputation, network beyond the workplace and promote public service projects.
