PSBR attorneys Rahul Ravipudi, Tom Schultz and John Shaller obtained a $8.25 million settlement for a young woman severely injured when she was struck by an SUV as she attempted to enter her vehicle.
On January 24, 2015, Plaintiff Kristina Diamantoni legally parked her vehicle in a designated parking lane on 26th Street just south of Marguerita Avenue in Santa Monica, California when she tried to enter it and was suddenly struck from behind by Defendant’s Lexus GS350. The force of the impact caused Ms. Diamantoni to strike her head against her car before being thrown approximately 30 feet and coming to rest on the pavement. As a result of the collision, Plaintiff suffered severe injuries including multiple pelvic fractures, facial abrasions and head trauma as well as penetrating wounds resulting from glass particles.
The Defense’s pretrial offer of $1.75 million was not accepted and the case moved forward to trial in January 2017. On the first day of jury selection. the case settled for $8,250,000.
