PSBR attorneys recently settled two separate cases against the Regents of the University of California for amounts totaling $14,000,000.
In the first case, PSBR attorneys David Rudorfer and Adam Shea obtained an $8,000,000 settlement for a woman and her husband after the woman was injured by a table that collapsed on her foot while she was attending a conference on the UCLA campus. The injury to her foot required surgery and resulted in the woman being diagnosed with Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). The Plaintiffs were also represented in the case by Steven Campora of Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora, LLP.
In the second case, PSBR attorneys Peter Kaufman and Brian Panish obtained a$6,000,000 settlement for the husband of a woman who died from toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) after being treated at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The hospital’s employees administered ketorolac (which is an NSAID) to the woman despite the fact that the drug had been contraindicated by her physician because of her previous reactions to NSAIDs. NSAIDs are known to cause TEN. The Plaintiff was also represented in the case by Jason Bell and Warren Paboojian of Baradat & Paboojian.
