In recognition of his professional achievements and civic leadership, Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP partner Brian Panish received the Harvey L. Silbert Torch of Learning Award from the American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on May 16. The event was attended by over 400 guests, raising nearly $900,000 benefitting Hebrew University’s Faculty of Law and will advance AFHU’s mission in support of the university.
Professor Barak Medina, Rector of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and former Dean of the Faculty of Law as well as Sam Mudie and his wife AFHU Western Region Vice Chair Patricia Glaser attended the event. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and foreign affairs expert Bret Stephens, an Op-Ed columnist for the New York Times, served as the event’s keynote speaker. Mr. Panish was accompanied by his wife, Rosie.
According to AFHU, the award remembers the late Harvey L. Silbert, a widely respected attorney and businessman who was committed to Israel, Hebrew University and the mission of AFHU for more than half a century.
