For the ninth consecutive year, Brian Panish has been named among the 2023 Top Plaintiff Lawyers in California by Daily Journal. The annual publication recognizes 40 lawyers across the state who have used their legal skills to forge real and lasting change.
As noted in the feature article highlighting Brian’s work, his leadership has been instrumental in several significant litigations including the Social Media Cases, Woolsey Fire, Thomas Fire, North Bay Fire Litigations, Aliso Canyon Gas Well Blowout, Asiana Airlines Crash, Olympic/Superbug CRE, DePuy ASR Hip Implant, and the Chatsworth Metrolink Disaster.
In 2023, Brian obtained a $32 million settlement for a neglected child in Tulare County which was approved by a Central Valley Court earlier this year. Despite the county’s initial denial of its duty to protect the child, the efforts of Brian and his team revealed that county employees could have intervened to prevent the catastrophic harm had they utilized their available resources.
“J.G. v. County of Tulare is significant because, in the child welfare system, infants are the most abused children,” Brian said in an interview for the publication. “This case held the County of Tulare responsible for its actions and shows that the most vulnerable in our society need to be protected. People with their oversight must be held accountable for failing to fulfill that important duty of protection.”
