$6.875 Million for Woman Broadsided by Fresno Officer Distracted Behind the Wheel

Posted on February 21, 2024

A 40-year-old woman suffered severe injuries after her vehicle was broadsided by a speeding Fresno Police Department SUV. The officer responsible for the crash was distracted behind the wheel, blew through a red light, and crashed into the driver’s side of our client’s car. Although the officer claimed he was responding to a suspicious person call, he had not initiated use of lights or sirens despite speeding and going through red lights.

In addition to emergency surgery at the hospital for a lacerated spleen and kidney, plaintiff underwent multiple surgeries in the months that followed to address neurological and spinal complaints.

Robert Glassman and Jonathan Davidi resolved the case for $6,875,000 at mediation.
