Case Synopsis:

Adam Shea and Ryan Casey obtained a $7,500,000 settlement for a man severely injured in a major-impact collision with a vehicle driven by a commercial farming employee.

On March 5, 2013, Plaintiff was driving his car northbound on a two-lane street when a commercial farming corporation vehicle traveling eastbound blew through a stop sign and collided with the 33-year-old Plaintiff’s car. The force of the impact caused Plaintiff’s vehicle to veer over 55 feet and crash into an erect stop sign. As a result of the collision, Plaintiff sustained spinal and rib fractures as well as a broken neck and was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he remained in the trauma ICU for 11 days.

Since the incident, Plaintiff has undergone numerous surgeries and remains a paraplegic.

The investigating officer concluded that Defendant’s failure to stop at the stop sign was the primary collision factor. Defendant admitted in deposition testimony that he failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, confirming the collision was no fault of the Plaintiff. Clayeo C. Arnold of the Arnold Law Firm also represented the plaintiff in the case.
