Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP is actively monitoring the situation and investigating the source and devastation caused by the Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire — two of the largest and deadliest wildfires currently burning in Los Angeles County. Fueled by strong winds and dry landscapes, these fires have caused unfathomable destruction and loss of life in the greater Los Angeles area. Our attorneys are standing by to help those affected by the fires.

The Eaton Fire ignited near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive in Altadena, California. The blaze has scorched more than 14,000 acres, killed at least 16 people, damaged or destroyed thousands of homes and structures, and displaced over 52,000 residents who were ordered to evacuate their homes and businesses.

The Palisades Fire started on the 1100 block of North Piedra Morada Drive in Pacific Palisades, on the west side of Los Angeles. The fire has burned more than 23,000 acres, killed at least 8 people, and nearly 1,300 structures have been lost. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said at a news conference that there was also a large number of individuals who did not evacuate and suffered serious injuries. Others remain missing.

The cause of the Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire remains under investigation.

Destruction from wildfires typically occurs suddenly, with little to no warning. When you are affected by a wildfire, you lose more than just physical belongings. You lose your sense of safety and may even lose a loved one. If you have been affected by either of the Los Angeles County Fires, you may be able to recover compensation for the following damages by working with one of our attorneys to file a personal injury claim:

  • Property damage
  • Evacuation and temporary living expenses
  • Medical expenses
  • Lost income
  • Emotional distress
  • Wrongful death
  • And more

It is important to note that you may have some coverage from your insurance provider, however, oftentimes insurance policies will not cover the full extent of the damages you’ve suffered. Additionally, insurance companies may try to act in bad faith by denying your claim, taking longer than necessary to process your claim, or severely lowballing you for your losses. That’s where our attorneys can help you.
