Motorcycle Accident Case:
CRENSHAW V. LAND O’LAKES
Verdict:
$6.45 MILLION
Case Synopsis:
Attorneys Brian Panish and Robert Glassman obtained a $6.45 million jury verdict for Robert Crenshaw who was seriously injured when a Land O’Lakes tractor-trailer truck made a left turn in front of his motorcycle striking him. Mr. Crenshaw, a veteran correctional officer at nearby Corcoran State Prison, suffered from multiple broken bones, including a broken left femur, and was left unable to return to work. Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP tried the case less than 30 days after being retained by Mr. Crenshaw. In addition to being the largest personal injury verdict in Kings County history, the jury’s award was especially significant because of the conservative venue and the fact that the case was brought against a business defendant with strong ties to the community. Mr. Crenshaw rejected Land O’Lakes’ offer before trial to settle the case for $2.5 million.
